DEAFvibe Fundraising Dinner Saturday 13th April 2013
DEAFvibe's very own 'J' Team (Julie Tizley and Judith Simcock) did a wonderful job in organising DEAFvibe's first fundraising dinner at Stone Golf Club on 13th April.
The event, which marked 4 years of DEAFvibe and celebrated the hard work and achievements to date was a spectacular success. A beautifully co-ordinated room (in DEAFvibe lime green and purple of course) was the setting for a night of good food, good company and fun entertainment organised by the 'J' Team.
Guests were treated to food choices such as salmon in white wine sauce, chicken and delicious chocolate pudding at tables where trustees and guests relaxed and let their hair down as they played Irish Bingo, regular bingo and had a go on the raffle.
An Easter hamper filled with chocolate goodies and designed by DEAFvibe trustee Rowena Toon was the grand prize for Irish Bingo. Generous donations meant there was a large selection of quality raffle prizes, from hampers and glassware to chocolate and flowers and everyone indulged in a quick game of bingo for fun prizes. At the end of the night, we all let our hair down and got our knees up on the dance floor.
The evening raised over £500 for DEAFvibe and will ensure there is funding to continue to run the monthly cafes and carry on the good work that DEAFvibe does to empower deaf, deaf-blind and hard of hearing people in Staffordshire.
